12-17-10: Who Resuscitated the Electric Car?
Republicans and Democrats aren’t agreeing on much these days, but they do seem ready to get behind electric vehicles. The day after his party’s mid-term shellacking, President Obama said electric vehicles—or EVs—were one issue he was prepared to work with Republicans on. A few days later the Senate Minority Leader, Republican Mitch McConnell, echoed the sentiment.

Yesterday on Morning Edition we heard about Hertz’s new electric car-rentals in New York City. Bruce Wallace talks to people in Maryland and D.C. who are preparing the way for electric cars.
